So Close Yet So Far
Hoobastank

I wake up all alone
Somewhere unfamiliar
Been gone so many days
I'm losing count
When I think of home
I see your face
I know I have to wait
You're so close, yet so far
It's tearing me apart
What I would do to be there with you
You're so close, yet so far
It's tearing me apart
What I would do, to be back with you
I miss hearing your laughter
And all the little things
Forgotten what it's like to hold you
'Cause where I am right now
So unforgiving
It's numbing everything
We're so close, yet so far
It's tearing me apart
What I would do, to be there with you
You're so close, yet so far
It's tearing me apart
What I would do, to be back with you
So promise,
No matter how long it takes me to get back to you
You'll wait for me
I promise,
No matter how far away I go, I'll always come back for you
Just wait and see
I miss being at home
I miss your face
Don't think I can wait
We're so close, yet so far
It's tearing me apart
What I would do, to be there with you
You're so close, yet so far
It's tearing me apart
What I would do, to be back with you
I promise, it's tearing me apart
No matter how far away I go, I'll always come back for you
I promise, it's tearing me apart
What I would do What i would do
What I would do to be back with you

Rainbow Bridge Poem

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Beyond The Rainbow

As much as I loved the life we had and all the times we played,
I was so very tired and knew my time on earth would fade.
I saw a wondrous image then of a place that's trouble-free
Where all of us can meet again to spend eternity.
I saw the most beautiful Rainbow, and on the other side
Were meadows rich and beautiful -- lush and green and wide!
And running through the meadows as far as the eye could see
Were animals of every sort as healthy as could be!
My own tired, failing body was fresh and healed and new
And I wanted to go run with them, but I had something left to do.
I needed to reach out to you, to tell you I'm alright
That this place is truly wonderful, then a bright Glow pierced the night.
'Twas the Glow of many Candles shining bright and strong and bold
And I knew then that it held your love in its brilliant shades of gold.
For although we may not be together in the way we used to be,
We are still connected by a cord no eye can see.
So whenever you need to find me, we're never far apart
If you look beyond the Rainbow and listen with your heart.

To Our Bear Mitchell:

Have you ever had a dog choose you? We went to look at all the rottweiler boy puppies. They were all so cute it was hard to choose. Finally we had one or so we thought we did. On the way to walking back one special boy tugged on his soon to be daddy's pants leg like "HEY YOU MADE A MISTAKE, PICK ME, PLEASE". Bear you just wouldn't let go. Both Dad and I looked at each other and said well hey buddy I guess you chose us so that day we were blessed with our wonderful boy, you, sweet Bubby Bear. I held you all the way home, fleas and all, I didn't care I had my rottie boy, my Bear. You were the best puppy and dog, you loved your sister Nikita even though she had an attitude but you always seemed to bring out the best in her. She loved you too.

Sweet Bear you were the sweetest and biggest rottie marshmallow. You never met anyone you didn't love and everyone loved you. Dad and Mom truly were blessed to have you choose us that day. So many times you helped people overcome their fear of big dogs and the rottweiler breed. You were a true goodwill ambassador for your breed.

We were never sorry you chose us that day, you gave us so much joy and laughter and unconditional love. We know in our hearts you felt the same way. If we could bring you back we would do whatever we could to make that happen but it can't so we will see you again when we meet at the Rainbow Bridge.

We love and miss you so much sweet Bubby Bear.
